Happy Easter

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Sunday. We had so much fun watching Wrenn hunt Easter eggs, open her Easter basket and try out new candy. Wrenn adores her new little JellyCat monogramed bunny from Hattie & Harper and the new books from Great Aunt Cheryl and Great Grammy. I think her favorite thing from her Easter basket might have been the jellybeans. She would have eaten the entire package if we let her!

Here are a couple photos from our laid back Easter Sunday. Ps. I can't believe how big she looks in these pictures!

Just Go To Sleep!

Half of 2twisters is out sick. What a nightmare ride she has had over the past few days.  First Wrenn spends the good part of 2 days with a terrible stomach bug and now Jess is out sick.  Get well soon SISTOR your fans miss you! And I miss our daily work calls.

The other half of 2twisters has been crazy busy with work and with plotting on how to get the twins to just go to sleep!  We recently converted the twins beds to toddler beds and if you do the math it looks like this: two twins + freedom to roam = slumber party USA.  The hubby and I have been strategizing on how to get them to sleep.  After many attempts and walking in to see scenarios like below one too many times, I think we have finally formulated a winning plan.

Step 1) Weld lamp and monitor to bookcase. Problem solved:  No more almost burning the house down scares and no more beeping monitors in the middle of the night.
Step 2) Turn bookcase and dresser to face the wall.  Problem solved: No more let's pull all the books and all the clothes out of the dresser games.
Step 3) Hang black out curtains, cover all LED lights from monitor and CD player.  Problem solved: No more light to see to roam around.
Step 4) Doggie, Dollie, Paci time outs for little stinkers who don't stay in their beds.  Problem solved: No more stinkers getting out of bed.
Step 5) Take each child into separate room to sit quietly before putting them in bed. Problem solved: Each child has time to calm down without the other child keeping them awake.

The past two nights have been successful and the kids have fallen asleep within 30-40 mins from the time we leave the room.

Fingers-crossed it continues to work.  The war is far from over!

Try It Out Tuesday - Goat Cheese and Tomato Crostini

I love goat cheese. Love it. Love it. Love it. I've only ever had goat cheese at restaurants and thought it was one of those "don't try this at home" ingredients.  But on a random visit to the grocery store, I thought I'm going to do it.  I'm going to buy some goat cheese and make something/anything with it! What I ended up trying out were some quite yummy if I do say so myself, goat cheese and tomato crostini.

Step 1: Coat bread with a little olive oil
Step 2: Spread goat cheese on bread
Step 3: Layer cherry tomato slices on top
Step 4: Broil bread on lo for about 4-5 mins
Tip: watch carefully because they can go from a nice golden color to burnt in the blink of an eye.
Step 5: Try not to eat them all at once!

Enjoy!

San Diego Foodie

Hi blogger friends!  Miss me?  I know I've missed you (hi mom!).  Last week, I was out in San Diego for a work conference so I wasn't able to get any blogs posted (thanks sis for picking up my slack).  Here it is Wednesday and I'm finally getting back into the swing of things. If you have never been to San Diego, you need to put it on your "Oh the Places You Will Go" list.  It's mostly know for it's awesome year round weather, but the food is amazing there too.  Everything is so fresh! I didn't have a bad meal there.

Here are a few food highlights from the trip.

Buffet breakfast at the Omni hotel.  Scrambled eggs with fresh veggies - spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, and peppers.  Could eat it everyday!

Fresh grapefruit juice - Fun how something like breakfast juice can make you think of your mommy.

Smily fresh fruit

Cheese bar at Bice - Bad picutre, great cheese!

Best sign ever.

Fries covered in all kinds of things that will make your heart stop - as if fries needed any more help being bad. YUM!  Compliments of Barley Mash.

Snow again??

I'm so ready for Spring and cannot wait for warmer weather, but Mother Nature clearly has other plans. Yesterday we got close to 9" of snow. Blah. However, on the bright side I did get a couple cute photos of my two favorite people hanging out in the snow storm. Enjoy!

 Matching "yucky snow" faces...Hehe

Bump Update

How am I'm only 2 days away from being 28 weeks pregnant already? We can't seriously be at a 12 week countdown...I mean this is bananas! I feel like we are so far behind with getting everything ready. We haven't even picked out a new paint color for what we will be Wrenn and baby boy's shared room yet. I'm trying not to panic, because I know we can get most everything ready in a couple weeks if we just focus. Guess I should put down this carrot cake and get to work!

Hope you have a great Monday!
