Seven Months Old

You are simply growing up too fast. Please slow down a little! You’ve moved up to size 3 diapers and 12 - 18 months clothing. You’re even almost too tall for your car seat! You like to fall asleep on your side. You can sit up all by yourself and you're a rolling machine during tummy time. You love taking baths and eating your poor rubber ducky’s head. You still talk and giggle all the time. We love listening to you laugh! You love Whisper kitty and squeal with delight when she comes in the room. You are a happy, little baby every single day.

TGIF

Thank goodness it's Friday! I'm ready to spend some time with the nuggets. To celebrate Friday I thought I would share some other things I've been thankful for this week.

1) Our nanny who captured this insanely adorable picture of the twins and who also saved Hattie from a man eating ant! And made us brownies!!

2) Being with Hattie and Harper when they saw their first rainbow. (ok so maybe they were too busy trying to run up the sidewalk to look, but still thankful!)

3) BBQ Chips. which never fail to remind me of summer

4) Tread and Shed gym class that kicks my butt!

5) A night alone (babies asleep, husband out with friends) spent doing nothing but watching TV, playing draw something and reading for once!

My Morning in Pictures

Welcome to Spring - it's looking to be a hot one!  The weather has been beautiful here - in the high 70s and low 80s.  Had a great morning so thought I would share it with you in pictures. Have a great day!

An Awesome Husband + a New Nightstand = Complete Happiness

Husbands are notorious for being able to push our buttons and we often times like to complain about them. "He never puts the dishes away!"  "Would it kill him to just put the seat down one time?!". Thankfully, I have been blessed with a very neat and organized husband. Of course he has his faults in other areas (as we all do). But for all their faults, they can be pretty amazing too. My husband is the best at surprising me.  Last week I had a rough go and was feeling down because I've only been getting to see Hattie and Harper for about an hour when I get home before they go to bed. So what did my sweet husband do? He surprised me on Friday and brought the twins into see me at work. So sweet! Then on Saturday to my surprise he brought home new nightstands for us! Now most of you are probably thinking "oh wow a nightstand, how romantic (insert sarcasm here)."  It may not be super romantic, but let me tell you I am so excited about my nightstand! Since I moved in with Joey in 2006 I have been using a very small side table for a night stand. And well see, I am the one that is messy and unorganized so my nightstand was always overflowing with books, papers, cups, jewelry, lotions etc. It was a nightmare of a nightstand.  My new nightstand is GLORIOUS! It's big, has drawers and a shelf for all my books!  Of course it's so pretty that I'm trying really hard not to junk it up with all my stuff.  Check out the before and after photos below. I think you will easily see how awesome Joey is for getting this for me and why his awesomeness + getting a new night stand = complete happiness.

Before - the nightmare nightstand

See the size difference!

After - Isn't this fabulous!

Hello Wednesday!

I love days when you wake up feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the day. Major bonus when the weather report looks like this in March!

Now, if only I had some magic powers to speed up the work day.....

Happy Wednesday!

A Change of Plans

I had a girls night in planned with a few girlfriends over the weekend. Unfortunately, all but two girls had to cancel, so we decided to reschedule altogether. At first, I was a little bummed, beacause as a working mom of twins it feels like I never get to see my girlfriends. However, in the end the night turned out to be a really great one. After getting the kiddos to bed, my husband and I watched the season premier of East Bound and Down, which just so happens to take place in our old stomping grounds of Myrtle Beach, SC. It was hilarious to see all the familiar places during the show.

Afterwards, we ordered Jets pizza and did one of our favorite things to do together, watch movie trailers of all the movies we will get excited to see, but in the end probably won't ever find the time to watch.

So bad for you, yet oh so good Jet's pizza

Here are a few of the movies that looked really good.
The Hobbit - Dec. 12
21 Jump Street - March 16
The Lucky One (ok, so Joey didn't watch this one, but ladies it looks like a good one and Zac Efron is looking buff!) - April 20
Brave - new Pixar flick - June 22
Despicable Me 2 - Summer 2013
Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter - June 22 (Joey thought this looked pretty cool, I'm on the fence)
The Hunger Games - I CAN'T WAIT - March 23!

What movies are you excited to see?

Spring Mani

I love getting my nails done. It's the perfect little treat. Since I only get them done every once in a while, I usually go with OPI Big City Red every time. It's my favorite polish and looks great with super short, round nails. But this time around, I was itching to try something new. Enter Essie Marshmallow. I picked it out as soon as I arrived for my manicure. It was like that tiny little bottle was calling my name.... Bring on the warm weather, because my nails and I are ready for Spring!

The High Price of Gas and Moisturizer

My mom can tell you where the cheapest gas is anytime, anyplace.  No joke. Taking a road trip - ask my mom which exit to take to find the cheapest gas because she will know. My mom has been known to drive 30 mins out of the way just to get gas for 2 cents cheaper. Somehow her innate ability was not passed down genetically to me. I rarely know the current price of gas, but what I do know is that it's at an all time high and I dread going to the gas station. The worst part is I almost always go to the gas station after a day of shopping, which causes immediate buyers remosre on the cute, awesome find that I just purchased.  I leave the mall feeling good, "Yay! I found 2 shirts and a pair of shoes and I only spent $45, what a great day!"  Then I stop to fill-up, "$65!!" Well, I guess I didn't really need that second shirt, even though it made me look like I had a perfect body, it's gotta go back. Argh!

On the same note, the price of moisturizer seems to be at an all time high too. I recently bought a moisturizer that cost $74 (I plead temporary insanity). This moisturizer did nada except make me break out in weird red patches and I don't even have sensitive skin. Thankfully, Sephora is amazing and let me return it even though I didn't have a receipt and I had already used half of it. Yay for Sephora! I ended up replacing it with Bobbi Brown's Hydrating Face Cream. I had used it in the past, but felt disappointed when it didn't make me look like Heidi Klum and like all moisturizers it was hard to drop the dollars on it. However, it's light, doesn't clog my pores and after realizing more expensive creams don't make you look like Heidi either, I've decided it's worth the money. So just like the gas at the pump, I'll keep on buying it.

Check it out at sephora now, but don't buy gas afterwards or you might end up returning it!

Wrenn - Six Months Old

This is a little late since Wrenn just turned 7 months old on Saturday, but better late than never.....

Six Months Old

Wow! How in the world are you 6 months old already? It seems like just yesterday we were getting to know you in the hospital. You are the sweetest, happiest little baby girl. You love to laugh and smile. You babble and chirp all the time. It is the cutest thing ever! You love bouncing in your bouncer chair and have started chewing on everything. You also like to eat, but coming from a family of eaters, this is not too much of a surprise! You really like apples mixed with prunes. You now ride in your stroller without your car seat and are super close to sitting up on your own.

This month, we flew to Hattie and Harper’s 1st birthday party. It was your very first flight and you did awesome! You fell asleep before we took off and slept the entire flight. We had a great time at the party and loved seeing Grammy, Poppel, Auntie Ginger, Uncle Joey, Hattie, Harper, Great Aunt Cheryl and Great-Grandma Mary Jane.

You had your six-month doctor visit and you weigh 16 lbs 11½ oz and are 28” long! This puts you in the 70% for your weight and 95% for your height. You are now as tall as the average 1 year old! You wear sizes 9 months and 12 months and you wear size 2 diapers. Your hair is getting long and you like to play with it when you are getting sleepy. Adorable!
